Stamp Tip

You can create some very original stamp art by using bleach as an "ink"
on your cards. You can place a folded paper towel onto a plastic plate
and then dampen it with household bleach. You then ink up your stamp
using the bleach and stamp your paper (this works really well on dark
coloured cardstock). It´s worth experimenting with this technique because
this works better on some cardstock than others. -- From Life Tips

Apple Picking

Last Sunday I had the distinct pleasure of taking my son and the grandkids apple picking. This is something my son and I did when he was young. Now we're carrying the tradition on with his kids - and I love it! It's been so long since I've been apple picking. I can't even explain why I enjoy it so much. The kids had a great time though and I am looking forward to finding time to do some cooking/baking with all these apples!

Here's some photos of our day.

Stamp tip of the week

Stamp Tip:

Yes, you can stamp on velvet! You will need to heat your iron on the
hottest setting. Lay your stamp on your work surface with the rubber side
UP. Then lay your velvet face down on the stamp. Lightly mist the back
of the velvet with water and then press the iron onto the back of the
velvet over the stamp. Hold the iron there for about 20 seconds without
moving the iron around and then lift the iron off. You will be left
with a lovely impression of the stamp!

Stamp Tip

Here's a stamp tip from Stamp.Life newsletters:

You can use your unwanted CD´s to create some really interesting
stamped items for use on cards or for turning into pins/brooches or jewelry!
Just break up your CD (wrap it in an old cloth and hit with a hammer -
have fun!) and then coat one side with pigment ink and dip into Ultra
Thick Embossing Powder. Heat with your heat gun until melted and then
stamp into the UTEE while it is still soft. Add any other embellishments
you want, and stick a pin on the back or glue the piece to your card
front.

Some of these are cool I may have to do a class on them some time!

I just can't believe it!

Today Stampin' Up! made the retiring accessories list available to demonstrators. I have to tell you I am just in shock over some of the items. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that:

A). A particular item on this list will just be repacked in color families, but still a current accessory.

B). They're really going to blow me away with all the new amazing accessories in the 2006/2007 Idea Book & Catalog.

Well, without further ado, click here for the 2006 Retiring Accessories List. Don't forget about the Retiring Stamp Sets as well. You only have until June 30th to order items on either of these lists.

This is always such an exciting time for Stampin' Up! I can't wait to see all the new Stamp Sets and Accessories they have for us this year!

Anyone want to come over next week and start a wish list?

You know I'll let you know when the Idea Books arrive. Until then...

Happy Stamping!

Today we celebrated Katelyn's 3rd birthday. She was so excited to get presents and have CAKE!

Here's a picture of her patiently waiting while grandma snapped pictures. Isn't she adorable!

Nice Summer Mini Card

Isn't this a cute card? Just wanted to share.

June is the official Wedding month

So in honor of that, here's some stamping ideas for weddings:

Beginning with all the cards a bride might use: there are announcements, invitations and thank-you's. Her attendants or guests may wish to carry the bride's theme over in shower cards, gift tags and gift wrap.

As for the event itself, imagine the ribbons of a bride's bouquet stamped with small motifs in a soft color, or pew bows accented in a similar way. The church programs and guestbooks are perfect items for the bride to demonstrate her creative hand.

At the reception, the opportunities multiply: place cards, wine glass charms, matchbooks, napkins, paper doilies, place mats, table decorations, streamers, signs and picture albums.

Remember that if you're stamping things like plastic table cloths or balloons, you'll need a solvent based ink like Stazon. It dries immediately and requires no heat setting!

Life Changing

I just have to tell you that the decision I made to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator has completely changed my life. I have made so many wonderful friends, most of whom will be life-long friends. Stampin' Up! Has given me an outlet for my creativity, my frustration and my social activity.

My life without Stampin' Up! would be severely less fulfilling. If you're a customer or a fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, you should know, that I count you as one of my favorite things about SU!

Ok, enough of my sappyness! Hope you have a great day!

I need to stamp!

I have felt like I don't have a life lately. Got this new job that just takes everything out of me. Frank and I went to a dinner on Friday and I ate something that didn't agree with me and got sick. Had to cancel a workshop because of it! I was soo looking forward to stamping too!

Hope to venture into my stamp room later today and at least get a Father's day card made so I can pop it in the mail tomorrow. I'll see if I can figure out how to post it here if I accomplish that.

My new job is "o.k.". I just hope my body becomes accustomed to all this work really soon. I hate feeling exhausted all the time!

Until next time,
Happy Stampin'!

I am far too excited!

Is it normal? Probably not for most people, but for stampers - particulary those who love Stampin' Up!, it's pretty common.

I'm so excited about the new Idea Book & Catalog! It'll be posted online for us demonstrators on June 21st! Our free copy should arrive also around the same time! I can't wait to see what new and exciting things SU has to offer us this year!

Some might think this a small thing. Even after 4 years as a demonstrator and awaiting the new catalog 3 times, I just can't sit still about it!

Anyone want to come drool over the new catalog when I get my copy? Send me an email and I'll let you know when it arrives. Want your own copy? Pre-purchase one right now (before June 21st) for $14.95 and I'll give you a gift certificate for $10 off your first purchase of $50 or more from the new catalog.

By the way, we can order from the new Idea Book and Catalog on July 1st! Wonder what will be the 'hot' item this year! Last year was Watercolor Wonder crayons!

Well, time to see if I can sleep. Have to start the work week all over again in about 7 hours (Ugh!).

I caved!

Well here I am! Joining the masses in blogging! I must admit that I think it's gonna be fun! Hope you'll join me often!
