Not stamping related

This was fun, and I loved the results! I promise to have something stamping related posted soon. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this little ditty about me!

You are most like:

You are Yellow

The clouds part and the smell of daffodils and daisies fill the air when you are around. Your sunny disposition cheers most, and makes others (the jealous and bitter ones) wish you'd never gotten out of bed.

Take this quiz: Which Crayola Box of 8 Color Are You?

Summer Weddings

I just love Summer Weddings. I have no explainations for that - except I'm just a big sap.

My good friend from Dollarama is getting married today. Here's a card I made for them.

I wish them a beautiful loving life together.

By the way, I got the idea for this card on Splitcoast. It's a great resource when the creative side of your brain takes a holiday!

Thanks for stopping by today!

As Promised

Here's the cards that were the Make 'n Takes for my Open House on Saturday.

This card was done on Whisper White cardstock with accents of Taken with Teal. I used the Bud Basics stamp set for the main image and Print Pattern and Itty Bitty Backgrounds for the background. Curvy Verses for the saying. Pretty in Pink and Basic Black Classic inks.

The other card below was done on Cameo Coral cardstock along with Very Vanilla and Creamy Caramel. I stamped the petals from Pick A Petal on Very Vanilla cardstock using Cameo Coral ink and then cut them out. I then sponged the edges of the petals with Creamy Caramel Ink, I adhered them onto Very Vanilla cardstock after sponging the edges of it also with Creamy Caramel ink.. Then stamped my greeting from Quick Thinking and adhered it onto Creamy Caramel cardsock and then it all went onto Cameo Coral. This card was the favorite of the day. Quick, Easy, but appealing!

I hope these two cards bring you even just a little bit of inspiration.

I am continuing my monthly Birthday Card making class. I hold these on the 1st Monday of every month. The next class is August 6th from 7 to 8. I know it's the Civic Holiday, but why can't we still stamp! Everyday is a good day to stamp!

We'll make 5 simple birthday cards in an hour. This will keep you prepared for every birthday each month. Cost to attend $15. In order to keep to the one hour schedule, no children please.

Please check my website http://www.inkinitup.com for a listing of other events and Opportunities.

I blew it again

Ok, I know I was supposed to post pictures of the Make 'n Take from yesterday's Open House! I'm sorry. I didn't have a chance. I promise. Pictures will be up tomorrow.

Canada Day Weekend

Since my husband wont be going to Chicago with me on holidays we took a short little vacation to Niagara Falls over the long Canada Day weekend. We stayed in a nice little Bed & Breakfast called Villa Gardenia. Here's a picture of our room.

If you're ever looking for a place to stay in Niagara Falls. I recommend Villa Gardenia. The hosts were great, breakfast was really nice and the room was extremely comfortable. It's only about a 2 minute drive from the falls too (unless you try getting there after the fireworks on Canada Day!)

Here's a picture of us by the falls. It was hot, but it was nice to get away for a couple days.

I'm back!

I've been MIA from my blog for a while I know, and I'm sorry! But I have finally found some time to STAMP!

Stamping has been on the back burner for me for a while, but that is all changing with the new Stampin' Up! year. The start of the new year means two things. A new catalog with lots of new stamps and accessories, AND a new opportunity to earn Stampin' Up!'s incentive trip.

This year the trip is to Hawaii! I want that trip so bad! I would love to take my husband to Hawaii and thank him for his amazing support!

Back to the stamping...

Next week I am on Holidays. I'll be going to Chicago to visit family. I made two gift items to take with me. I'd like to come up with 2 more, but I'm not sure I have time.

This one is a gift for my niece. She turned 13 on the 1st of July. This I think just suits her personality.

I figured it was about time I use this retired paper from a couple years ago. Oh, and did you notice the eyelets through the tin? That's thanks to my Crop-a-dile! It punches through these tins like they were butter!

Inside I've put a covered notebook, a matching pen and I will try to find other little goodies to include as well.

The next gift I've completed is for my mother. A few years ago she handed over her old black and white photos from when she was a kid. She said I would do something with them before she would. Well this is what I did. I sure hope she likes it.

This is a (now retired) Saddle Stitch book kit from Stampin' Up! I kept this really simple only using a bit of hodgepodge, some of my favorite Au Chocolat designer paper along with some ribbon and twill tape.

I have lots more projects in my head to work on. I'll post those when they're completed. Have a great week everyone!

So sad!

Last week I finally had some time to work in my stamp room. I wasn't stamping - nooo, but I was pulling all the retired sets from y stamp cabinet. What a sad time that was!

Look at all these retired sets. 51 to be exact!

Usually, I'm not too upset when the retired list comes out. It's usually an opportunity for me to buy new fun stuff! This year though, I am actually on-the-ball in cleaning out the old to make room for new. Look what I'm left with:

Is that not a pitiful site?! Good thing my new stuff starts arriving next week. My pre-order from the Fall 07 collection is on its way to me right now! I can't wait to start playing.

Of course I'll post pictures when it arrives!

What a weekend

Wow! I've had an incredible weekend! This was the weekend for the Annual London Stampede. I put this Demonstrator Training Event on every year. This year was pretty stressful as a few things are different this year - I lost my one-time partner. She dropped her Stampin' Up! demonstratorship and I also have been working a very stressful job as well this time around.

Anyway, it's done and overwith for this year. Even though so many things didn't go perfectly, I still had mostly good feedback. We had alot of fun even though we froze our tooshies off!

I'll post pictures later. Right now I have to go to bed. Work again tomorrow. No rest for the wicked I guess!

Stamp tip of the week

If you are trying out chalks then you will find that your image will look best if you "shade" with the chalk rather than just colouring the whole image in with the same strength of pigment eg: when colouring petals on flowers try and shade just the edges of the petals and then put a little shading towards the centre of the flower.

Stamp Tip

Tip of the Week
Use a Blender pen to create water-color looks with your marker. Apply some pen color onto a plastic plate then pick up the color with the blender pen and color your image. To clean the blender pen, brush onto a scrap piece of paper until you see clear ink again. You can also use the blender to take color straight off the end of your pen and then draw with the blender.

Finally!

I've been without internet for 4 whole days! Finally it got fixed after Mr. Cable Guy ransacked my entire house - trashing my stamp room and taking vent covers off, moving my bed, digging in my closet! In the end though I didn't mind at all! When I saw those lights start flashing on the modem I forgot about all that!

While I was without internet though, I did concentrate on working on my Wow swap items for the Ottawa Stampin' Girls Convention (which is in just 2 weeks!). I have 50 of these babies to make! Not to mention swap cards! I'll be finishing them up hopefully tonight and will post a picture over the weekend.

Just wanted to connect with you after a while away. Here's wishing you all a fabulous weekend!

Open Stamp Night

This Friday is an open stamp night. Come to my place and enjoy an evening of stamping with friends. Not a class, just a fun night with other stampers working on our own projects. Bring your own cardstock and adhesive and you're welcome to use any of my stamps and ink.

Cost is $5 and I'll order pizza and provide a beverage. Let me know you're coming though as space is limited! Email me at cmoore@inkinitup.com.

A nice card

Earlier this month when I was in Holland Michigan at the Klompen Stampers Spring Seminar I took a bunch of pictures of some great cards and other projects. I thought you might like to see some of them.

Here's a really nice card that's oh so simple. I did not make this card. I will definately make some similar to it because it's clean and crisp and looks like I could make a bunch of them in no time! I hope you'll try it too!

Gifts mailing

All the gifts I offered will be going in the mail this weekend. I'm so sorry for such a delay, but I do hope you enjoy them!

Wednesday, March 14, 2007

Wondering where your gift is?

I promised to send out a little gift in my "Name that stamp set" game 2 weeks ago or so. Well, they're all sitting on my coffee table!

Sorry for the delay. They will be going out I promise. Those of you in the US please allow extra time for them to arrive from Canada.

Thanks again for playing!

Stamp Tip

If you love using Pearl Ex or are just beginning to use it, then you´ll be pleased to know that you can use Pearl Ex powders with your blender pen! Just pick up the color of your choice with the end of your blender pen and "paint" it across your image wherever you like. You will not have to use a spray sealer to seal the color to the page. It's good just the way it is.

More Chocolat

Thought you might enjoy another Chocolate card! This Au Chocolat Designer Series paper has to be my favorite thus far! I'm sure there will be something even more fabulous in the Summer Mini!

What a weekend!

Hi Everyone. I've been away all weekend at a Demonstrator Training event in Michigan. I am grateful for my life today. It was a very scary ride on Friday. What should have taken 4 hours took almost 8. But we arrived safe and sound and enjoyed the rest of the weekend immensly.

I learned alot, got a ton of new ideas and have lots of new things planned.

I thought I'd share one of my favorite things from the weekend (Donna, please keep your comments to yourself on this!) I have fallen in love. Yes, I am madly in love with our Au Chocolat Designer paper! I was drawn to it the moment I saw it and this weekend, everything I saw in Chocolate, I had to touch and feel! I almost bought some 800 thread count sheets in this color from Target today! I would have feared for my life again once I arrived home with them! LOL My husband doesn't appreciate things like that!

Anyway, here's a nice card made with my new favorite paper. Let me know what you think of it (Please disregard the woman's hand in the picture. We were both photographing it at the same time)... and don't forget, there's a few hours left for the "Name that Stamp Set" game below. If you haven't made your guess, you have until midnight tonight.

See you soon!

Do you know the name of this stamp set?

Here's a card made with a stamp set that doesn't get used enough I think. If you can tell me the name of this set (no peaking, you're on the honour system here!) I will send you a free little gift.

I will send a gift to everyone who posts the correct answer before Monday, March 5th. Post your guess in the comments, and you must include your email address. Guessers who do not include their email address will be out of luck - sorry.

Enjoy the card.

Wonder what I've been up to?

I've been stamping! Yes, that's right. Stamping! Imagine that! I'm making swap cards for the Holland Michigan Spring Seminar. It's in 2 weeks so I'm stamping like mad. There's usually about 400-500 Stampin' Up! Demonstrators at this event. I wont be swapping with all of them, but I hope to be able to swap with about 100. That means I have 100 cards to complete before March 2nd. Hope I can find the time this weekend!

Here's 2 of my swap cards. Enjoy.

Go Bears!

Ok, most of you who know me know that I am not much into sports. But I can't help but root for the home team, Chicago Bears today as they go head to head with the Indianapolis Colts! We're having a small family gathering today, but I'm sure the neighbors will hear us cheering!

Bittersweet

As I type my son is loading up the car with his belongings. He's moving out (again) tonight. I'm a little meloncholy about this because I've really enjoyed spending time with my son and grandson. I hadn't gotten to spend as much time as I would have liked with Jaiden so I have taken full advantage. It was nice having Jonathan around as well.

On the other hand - I get my house back. No more Cheerios or pizza sauce on my floor. No more midnight (and 2am and 4am etc.) feedings! No more need to turn the tv up to a volume over the screaming child.

And I'll be able to really get back to business. Starting tomorrow, stamping with Sandy - then who knows what I'll throw out there!

I am excited and sad at the same time. Does anyone understand that?

Next Card Class

Here's a card we'll be making at my next card class. It's actually a copy of a card made by Patty Bennett. Stampin' Up! posted it on Stamper's Showcase - one of the many features of the Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Web Site. I get alot of ideas from there!

I think this is a really cute card. What about you? Leave me a comment - and if you'd like information on my next class, Email Me

Oh, I forgot to mention that this card uses the Tagger's Dozen and Small Sayings stamp sets as well as the Loves Me Designer Series paper (which I am totally in love with!)

Sorry Folks!

I haven't had much time to write or be creative lately. My son and his baby have moved in with us. Right after all the stress we had with Christmas and my job at Dollarama. No time in between for rest.

I must say though that I am completely enjoying having my grandbaby here with me. My son too, but Jaiden is just the most adorable thing! here's a picture to prove it:

You can't argue with that now can you?!

I promise to get back to business soon here! In the meantime I hope you are having a fabulous New Year!
